The Coronavirus has taken a tremendous toll on many families around
Northwest Arkansas. There are many great medical professionals
working to save lives and help heal the community. Every city has
groups of people trying to help keep businesses afloat and help
individuals and families keep their head above water during this time.
So here is a part of our continued effort.
City Council member, Amelia Williams, has created a program called
Neighbors Helping Neighbors. Since she ran in 2018 it has been one
of her most passionate pursuits to help those in need and make sure
the less fortunate are taken care of. We will use to power of the Live
Springdale social member and you 40,000 people to help create and
share opportunities and organize groups to fill those needs all across
our city. We will be introducing and inviting you to join "Live Springdale
- Neighbors Helping Neighbors" so you can freely post and participate
in the discussions. Whether you can give of your money, your time or
talents YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Below is a message from Amelia.
At Neighbors Helping Neighbors, we wish to connect those with a need
to those who can fulfill a need. It is simple, during these uncertain
times, many are facing difficult financial situations. Many also want to
help others. Some find themselves in both categories. If you need
anything or know someone who does, you can post it. If you want to
provide for another, comment that you can help. If the need requires a
pickup, as with marketplace sells, please private message each other
your meeting time and location and meet in well-lit public places with
other people around. I recommend you adhere to the state of
Arkansas' COVID guidelines and take appropriate protective
measures. The provider and recipient should work out details on those
protective measures before meeting.
