Seeking Applicants
With the recent departure of Colby Fulfer from his Ward 1 seat the City
Council is left with just 7 members and facing the decision of what to
do about the vacant seat. The options are as follows. The council may
decide to simply leave the seat vacant until the November election or
vote to appoint an individual to serve the remainder of Mr. Fulfer's term.
This individual, should the council choose to appoint one, would then
have to run for re-election in November of this year.
The council has taken up this matter on two separate occasions and has left open a one month window for those interested in working on the city council to apply for consideration to the position. There are generally 4 standard meetings a month, as well as conferences, budgetary meetings and constituent services if you are effective as a council member.
