Local Businesses Open Hearts and Wallets,
Help Seniors and Feed Children
Amid concerns of the Coronavirus some local business owners have
offered their businesses as places of refuge for both Senior Citizens
and Children in need of help.
From Jennifer Matsubara at Shelby Lynn's Cake Shoppe
With all this craziness and stocking up on goods. I am asking all of my
friends, if you have extra toilet paper, Clorox wipes, hand sanitizer,
etc....Please consider donating some of yours to the Springdale Senior
Center. Our most "at risk" citizens can't purchase these much-needed
prevention supplies. You can drop off at the cake shop and I will take
them to the Senior Center and you can get a free petite for or cookie
for being a good human. Or drop off at the senior center if you can.
From Nick Morgan at Marco's Pizza
While I don't know the exact numbers, I do know we have a large
portion of kids in NWA that are on reduced and/or free lunches. If
schools here are canceled there will be a number of kids who don't get
to eat as most of their meals only come from school.
If schools are canceled here and you or your kids are hungry, please
stop by one of our shops; Jersey Mike's (Bentonville, Rogers) or
Marco's Pizza (Bentonville, Springdale, Fayetteville). There is no need
to be shy or embarrassed. Just come to the register and quietly let us
know you've either seen this post or heard about it.
We will make sure you and your kids get a meal. We serve the
community and don't exist without you all. Take care, keep washing
those hands, and keep on moving!
Everyone feel free to share this. Thanks to my friend Jenne McCarty
for the inspiration.
From Brent Hale at Bix Sexy Food Trucks and Sammich Love
It appears that it is quite likely that schools will be closing in the near
future.
If this happens there will be a significant number of children on the
schools free meal program who go without food. This is unacceptable.
We assume that school districts will do what they can but we also
assume that will be limited for a wide range of reasons.
We want to help. If schools are canceled and you and your family need
food please let us help. Come by any of our locations for BIG SEXY
FOOD (Rogers & Springdale) or SAMMICH LOVE (Springdale) and let
us feed you. Please don't hesitate or be embarrassed. You can simply
and quietly let our team know that saw this post or that you heard about
it and we will make sure you and you family get a meal.
We love our amazing people here in NWA. We would not and will not
be here without you and your support. Be kind. Check on your
neighbor. And above all, love each other, just wash your hands first.
Share this to anyone you feel needs to see it.

We are overjoyed to see the outpouring of support from local
businesses offering to help ease the burden of the impending and
current school closings associated with COVID-19. These closings
and potential closings will leave a large number of kids that are
currently receiving free or reduced meals without access to those
meals, and as has always been our policy, kids eat free at JJ's. We are
offering all kids (K-12) on free or reduced meals at school to come eat
a kid's meal FREE without the purchase of an adult entree during these
closures.
In addition, we will be offering curbside to-go orders for those guests
who feel less comfortable coming inside, just place your to-go order as
normal and when you arrive, give us a call. One of our staff will bring
your meal directly to you.
