Out to Eat: MaMa Tang

Elm Springs Road has seen its share of changes over the past decade, particularly around the I-49 interchange. But one of the things that has remained a constant is Mama Tang Restaurant located just to the West of where Huntsville turns into Elm Springs on the North side of the road. The building stands unassuming and surrounded by trees but what awaits inside is worth the trip.
I've eaten there numerous times over the years, but being the creature of habit I am I usually don't stray far from what I know to be pleasing to my taste buds. Getting started is always an easy choice. The Cheese Stars, more commonly called Crab Rangoons, are delicious and full of flavor. Cooked just right and not too tough as I've experienced in other places. I'm always a fan of Sweet and Sour Chicken with Fried Rice and theirs doesn't disappoint. A healthy amount of chicken smothered in sauce and piled high on the bed of rice makes for one huge or two small meals depending on the person dining with them. On a die note, I have also had the Mama Tang's Fried Rice. It includes a wonderful mixture of chicken, beef and shrimp in a sea of fried rice. Certainly enough for dinner and lunch the next day if you so choose.
